Description | U.S. Sen. Scott Brown’s royal gaffe — when he told talk show hosts he’s held “secret meetings with kings and queens” — fuels Democrats’ claims of Brown’s hypocrisy after he has spent weeks blasting opponent Elizabeth Warren for untruthfulness, one pundit said.
“It comes down to an issue of credibility. If he’s going to question his opponent, then he shouldn’t be bending the truth himself,” said Thomas Whalen, a Boston University professor of political history.
Brown told Jim Braude and Margery Eagan on WTKK-FM yesterday that, “Each and every day that I’ve been a United States senator, I’ve been discussing issues, meeting on issues, in secret meetings with kings and queens and prime ministers and business leaders and military leaders talking, working, voting on issues every single day.”
