| Description | Mayor Jim O’Neal abruptly announced his resignation Monday following a long and contentious City Council meeting.
O’Neal, elected mayor in 2009 and again in April 2011, cited business and family pressures as the reason for his resignation, effective immediately.
Councilman Bob Stephens, voted mayor pro tem by fellow council members last year, is scheduled to be sworn in as O’Neal’s replacement at the council lunch meeting today. |
