Description | There are a number of things wrong with the long piece that Politico published on Sunday morning about the recall election in Wisconsin. One of the most obvious is the almost complete lack of substantive input from anyone who actually is from Wisconsin. The closest thing the authors (the famed "Haberman and Burns") have to a native son is quoting a speech delivered to the NRA convention by Scott Walker, the goggle-eyed homunculus hired by Koch Industries to manage its midwest subsidiary formerly known as the state of Wisconsin; an anonymous burble from "one Wisconsin source sympathetic to the campaign against Walker," which means the source might well be on the moon; an old quote from Milwaukee mayor Tom Barrett, who is one of the people running to replace Walkerl and a brief word from a spokesman for Barrett's primary opponent, Kathleen Falk. Their other sources include:
Andy Stein, the former national president of the SEIU.
Lee Saunders, the secretary-treasurer of AFSCME.
Martin O'Malley, longtime Esquire mancrush and governor of Maryland.
"One Republican operative familiar with polling on the race..."
"Nick Everhart, a Republican media strategist who has worked in Wisconsin..."
