Description | With Democratic rival Martin Frost raking in a half-million dollars in the last three months, Rep. Pete Sessions is pleading with House colleagues to shore up his own finances.
"The stakes are extremely high, and I am facing one of the greatest battles of my political career," Mr. Sessions, R-Dallas, wrote fellow Republicans.
New campaign finance reports show that Mr. Frost out-raised Mr. Sessions better than 4-1 in the last quarter of 2003, and both sides say they could spend $3 million by Election Day in November.
