Description50 years ago, no one expected to pay a man’s wage for women’s work. President Kennedy was still a year away from signing the Equal Pay Act of 1963 and women fought for things like protection from domestic violence and a shot at advancing in the workplace. Kathleen Falk was 10.

So while the feminist movement grew up around her, Falk must’ve missed something. She might’ve mistaken it for a nationwide invitation to treat pregnancy as a disease (prevent it!) or judge traditional families as outdated. But the real message to women of the 1960’s and every generation since, is simple: You’re just as good as any guy.
Fast forward 50 years and still only 12 of the Fortune 500 companies are run by women, the U.S. ranks 73rd in the world inwomen’s political leadership and Kathleen Falk inexplicably thinks she needs a big, strong hand to guide her to success.
