DescriptionWASHINGTON - A three-judge appellate court panel today unanimously affirmed all but one of 11 guilty counts returned against former Rep. William Jefferson, D-New Orleans, by a Virginia jury in 2009.

The ruling by the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals is unlikely to impact the 13-year sentenced handed down by Trial Judge T.S Ellis III.

The only verdict overturned by the three-judge panel was for a mail fraud charge that the judges said was improperly prosecuted in Virginia.
