Description | Can Democrat Bob Kerrey vote in Nebraska?
That’s a question the Nebraska Republican Party plans to raise, saying they expect to challenge his initial voter registration.
Kerrey returned to Nebraska this week and filed to run for U.S. Senate. The former Nebraska governor, who has lived in New York City for 12 years, also registered to vote. In his initial registration, he listed his sister’s home as his residence. He later changed his residency to a guest house owned by a friend.
Jordan McGrain, executive director of the state GOP, says Kerrey neither lived at his sister’s house nor planned to live there. He noted that the day Kerrey registered to vote, he spent the night at a downtown hotel. |
