DescriptionMitt Romney accused Rick Santorum of taking part in an effort to "kidnap" the GOP primary in Michigan, called his rival an "economic lightweight" and conceded his own gaffes have been hurting him in a press availability with reporters in Livonia, Michigan, via POLITICO's Reid Epstein.

"I hear the Santorum camp is making calls to the Democrats today - we want to get Republicans out to vote," Romney told volunteers at his headquarters there. "We want this to be a process where Republicans choose the Republican nominee. We don’t want the Democrats to choose who they think is the easiest person to run against."

He even quoted Newt Gingrich hitting Santorum as a "Big Labor Republican."
