Description | "PORTLAND, Maine — Gov. John Baldacci was involved in a car accident Wednesday morning on the way to attend a speaking engagement in Portland.
Spokesman Lee Umphrey said the accident occurred near Exit 25 on Interstate 295, which is in Bowdoinham."
From a later update -
"Dr. Brad Cushing, the director of the hospital's trauma center, says the governor's injuries are not life threatening, but he was being kept in the intensive care unit for privacy purposes.
Cushing says Gov. Baldacci and Trask suffered bumps and bruises. He says both men will remain in the hospital overnight while doctors manage their pain. Gov. Baldacci was listed in fair condition. Trask was listed in satisfactory condition." |
