Description | Democrats are battling illness in addition to Republicans when it comes to a plan to pay for full-day kindergarten.
The absence of four House Democrats on Monday doomed a vote on full-day kindergarten funding, and it was unclear whether the lawmakers would return in time for another vote on the measure.
The House has until Thursday to pass the provision, which deals with long-term funding for full-day kindergarten and failed 46-49. Three of the four lawmakers were away for health reasons and might not return for several days. |
