DescriptionGov. Nikki Haley said today that if Mitt Romney wins the GOP 2012 presidential nomination and asks her to be his running mate, she will decline.

The question was asked on NBC’s “Meet the Press” and Haley’s short answer was unambiguous: “Absolutely not.”

“I am very thrilled to be the governor of the state of South Carolina,” Haley went on. “I made a promise to the people of this state and I intend on keeping it.”

Haley appeared in Greenville with former Massachusetts Gov. Romney on Friday and gave him her endorsement for president.
