Description | There's a certain irony — and quite possibly a lot more — to the timing of the report released Friday by the House Ethics Committee that it is continuing its probe into possible misconduct by U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr., D-Chicago.
The report comes just a few days before ex-Gov. Rod Blagojevich is scheduled to find out at a sentencing hearing how many years — or decades — he will have to spend in the Big House. More on that in a minute.
But Friday's news is what's in the report the ethics committee released. That is a finding of "probable cause" that Mr. Jackson cooperated in a scheme to raise campaign cash for Mr. Blagojevich if the then-governor would appoint him to the U.S. Senate. |
