Description | Organizers of a massive effort to recall Gov. Scott Walker hope to also vote Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch out of office but say they need more information from state officials before announcing details about their strategy.
"We are still waiting on opinions from all entities for more information that will guide how we move forward, but we believe that when Scott Walker goes, Rebecca Kleefisch must go too," said Meagan Mahaffey of United Wisconsin, the group leading recall efforts with the state Democratic Party.
Officials with the state Government Accountability Board, Wisconsin's election watchdog agency, have asked Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen for an opinion about whether the state constitution would require separate petitions targeting Walker and Kleefisch, or whether one petition could cover both of them. The GAB said it believes recalling both of them would require two separate recall petitions specifically directed at each official. |
