DescriptionA coalition of concerned citizens is voicing its disapproval of a controversial Islamic candidate for the Virginia State Assembly.

David Ramadan is originally from Lebanon and has received the endorsement of former Reagan administration Attorney General Edwin Meese as a GOP candidate for a delegate seat in northern Virginia's 87th District. Twelve prominent conservative leaders have sent Meese a letter expressing their concerns about a number of potentially troubling questions they say Ramadan has failed to answer.

James Lafferty is chairman of the Virginia Anti-Sharia Task Force. He says Ramadan supports the "Ground Zero" Mosque in New York City and has also had some ties with the lobbying firm for Libya in the United States.
