Description | Star Tribune Staff Writer President Bush's approval rating in Minnesota has fallen during the past month, putting him close to the lowest rating of his presidency, according to the latest Star Tribune Minnesota Poll.
In a poll taken Jan. 15-20, ending on the night Bush delivered his State of the Union message, 50 percent of Minnesotans said they approve of the way he is handling his job, while 46 percent disapprove. That compares with a 56-40 approval-disapproval rating in mid-December, the last time the Minnesota Poll asked the question.
Bush's decline occurred almost entirely among Democrats and appears to be a reversal of the spike in his ratings in the aftermath of the Dec. 13 capture of Saddam Hussein. |
