Description | The Maricopa County Elections Department has verified enough signatures to call a special recall election for Senate President Russell Pearce, according to the group lobbying for the recall.
Citizens for a Better Arizona said they were told by the county on Wednesday morning that 8,239 signatures had been verified. They needed 7,756 to get a recall election. County officials said the results are still unofficial.
"This guarantees there will be an election and at the rate they are going, it's almost a given that the election will be in November," said Citizens for A Better Arizona Chairman Chad Snow. |
