DescriptionFormer state Republican Party Chairman Saul Anuzis this morning became the latest in a long line of potential 2012 U.S. Senate candidates to announce that he won’t seek the GOP nomination to challenge incumbent Democrat U.S. Sen. Debbie Stabenow.

Anuzis, in a post to his blog That’s Saul Folks, said his was “a personal decision,” prompted in part by his inability to take the time off work to mount a campaign.

“I do not have the financial wherewithal to take a year off from working and run an aggressive, fulltime campaign,” said Anuzis, a telecommunications consultant and Michigan’s GOP national committeeman.
