Description | The decision Thursday by two-time congressional hopeful Jill Derby to not run in the special election to fill the Nevada's open seat in the U.S. House was based on money, some leading Democrats said.
Nevada Treasurer Kate Marshall had received the support of the Democratic Congressional Committee in Washington, D.C., giving her the financial edge over Derby, a former university regent. That prompted Derby's decision, some Democrats said.
"It's all about the money," said Nancy Price, the Democrats' 2nd U.S. House District candidate in 2010. Price, a former regent, has filed to run in the U.S. House special election. |
