Description | An effort to recall State Sen. Jim Holperin, D-Eagle River, has been successful by a wide margin of signatures required to force a new election, according to a group seeking to oust him from office.
Members of the Recall Jim Holperin Committee say they will present the signatures of over 21,000 constituents of Wisconsin's 12th Senate District, which includes Oneida and Vilas counties, to the Government Accountability Board in Madison on Thursday to demand a recall election for Holperin's senate seat.
This total well surpasses the 15,960 signatures required, which Kim Simac, a leader of the effort called "a testimony to voter's widespread anger over Holperin's abandonment of their values and lack of concern for fiscal responsibility in the state." |
