| Description | Former first lady Christie Vilsack, a Democrat, is moving to Story County in the newly drawn 4th District, a family friend told The Des Moines Register tonight.
“I can confirm that Christie and Tom Vilsack have completed a transaction and are moving to Ames,” said Matt Paul, a Democratic strategist who was a staffer for Tom Vilsack when he was governor.
That all but seals the question of whether she intends to run for Congress to challenge conservative Republican U.S. Rep. Steve King, a former state senator who was elected to Congress in 2002. |
