Description | Lt. Gov. Brian Krolicki wasted no time publicly endorsing Rep. Dean Heller in Nevada's U.S. Senate race.
In a phone call to POLITICO Tuesday shortly after Heller's announcement, Krolicki said he was fully behind Heller's candidacy and would take time to consider running for the 2nd Congressional District House seat over the next several weeks.
"I’m embracing his candidacy and I told him over the weekend that I will do everything within my power to help him become a U.S. Senator. I’m a team player and Dean is a very important friend in my life, as is his family," said Krolicki, who noted that he had several conversations with Heller since Sen. John Ensign's announcement to retire.
Krolicki said he told Heller this weekend at Lincoln Day events in Eureka and Ely that he would not challenge him in a Senate primary.
“Dean is, for this moment, the right person for this opportunity. He’s earned this," Krolicki said. |
