Description | At a meeting in Lewisburg on Thursday, Jan. 20, West Virginia Secretary of State Natalie Tennant announced she will run for governor in the 2011 special election.
Tennant says she will use the same approach she has taken as Secretary of State in the Governors office. It's what she calls, a go getter attitude.
"I think it's important to be able to bring some of this energy and some of the ideas that I have," said Tennant. "I'm a fighter, I don't back down and I stand up for what's right; and West Virginia is right."
When asked about her chances Tennant said she thinks she has a good shot because she serves West Virginia well in her current roll.
A bill before the House of Delegates proposes a special primary election on May 14, followed by a General Election on Aug. 6. |
