Description | Ellen Parker was impressed when she heard Vicki Kennedy speak at the Democratic State Convention last spring. So impressed that she has joined a group trying to draft Kennedy for U.S. Senate.
Parker and other Democrats want her to run against U.S. Senator Scott Brown in 2012.
"I like her, and I'm not happy with Scott Brown," said Parker, an Attleboro resident and member of the Democratic State Committee.
"He's just an obstructionist. That is not what I want in my senator."
A 1,700-member Facebook page has been started to gather support for Vicki Kennedy, widow of the late Sen. Edward Kennedy. "We must reclaim the Kennedy seat for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts not because she is a Kennedy, but because we need a strong Democrat in Washington to represent the people from Massachusetts," the Web page states.
