DescriptionMore than two-thirds of Minnesotans say it is time for Republican Tom Emmer to concede that he's lost the governor's election, according to a new poll by Public Policy Polling.

The poll found that 68 percent of Minnesotans believe that DFLer Mark Dayton has won the race, while 21 percent believe Emmer is the winner and 11 percent are unsure.

"At this point it's pretty clear that everyone who didn't vote for Emmer, and a fair number who did, think that Dayton won and it's time for Emmer to drop it," the Raleigh, N.C.-based polling organization said.

The poll interviewed 949 Minnesota voters Saturday and Sunday and has a margin of sampling error of 3.2 percentage points, plus or minus.

"Predictably, 95 percent of Democrats think Dayton won and 72 percent of independents do as well," the polling group said. "What might be more suprising is the numbers with Republicans. Fewer than half -- 46 percent -- think Emmer won while 37 percent think Dayton was actually the winner."
