Description | Regardless of residence or citizenship, a person will be prosecuted if he has violated U.S. law, Attorney General Eric Holder said during a news conference on Monday, during which he was questioned about the website Wikileaks.
Although the news conference was to announce that federal authorities have shut down 82 websites selling counterfeit goods, Holder quickly was fielding questions about how the Justice Department is handling the latest release of classified State Department documents. On Nov. 28, The New York Times posted on its website some of the 250,000 confidential U.S. diplomatic cables Wikileaks posted the same day. The Times reported extensively on the documents in Monday’s print editions. |
