Description | PARIS (Dow Jones)--French president Nicolas Sarkozy's approval rating in November stayed depressed at the record low of 26%, the same as in October, despite massive protests against his unpopular pensions reform, a poll from TNS Sofres showed Friday.
The poll was conducted between Oct. 29 and Nov. 1, just after the pensions reform cleared parliamentary hurdles, and a union-led national day of protest and strikes.
Sarkozy's approval rating hit a 26% low in July, and has hardly improved since, continuing a trend of steady decline since December 2007's record high of 49%. |
