Description | Wisconsin state senator Dan Kapanke came closer to beating Democrat Ron Kind in the state's third congressional district than any other Republican has done in the past 7 elections. Facing late-breaking accusations of soliciting campaign contributions from doctors in exchange for a meeting to discuss health care legislation, Kind only won 50.4 percent of the vote this year after getting nearly twice as many votes as his opponent in 2008. Kapanke won 46.5 percent of the vote and a third-party candidate took 3.1 percent. |
