Description | Questions linger over whether former President Bill Clinton asked Democrat Rep. Kendrick Meek to end his Senate bid in Florida and what role the White House may have had in the discussions.
"Any rumor or any statement by anyone that says I made a decision to get out of his race is inaccurate at best," Meek said at a Thursday news conference.
Meek said neither Clinton nor the Democratic National Committee called him to say he should get out of the three-way race between Republican Marco Rubio and Republican-turned-independent Senate candidate Florida Gov. Charlie Crist.
Meek said he met with Clinton last week at a rally and the former president is still a supporter of his campaign. |
