Description | "The Progressive Conservatives will form a majority government in New Brunswick, CBC News projects.
At 9:20 p.m., the Tories held 49 per cent of the popular support, the Liberals had 35 per cent and the NDP had about nine per cent. The majority of votes that have been counted so far are special ballots.
CBC News has projected Tory candidate Madeleine Dubé as the first candidate to be elected. She has represented the northwestern riding of Edmundston-Saint-Basile since 1999.
CBC News is also projecting Alward elected in his Woodstock riding." |
