Description | LAKELAND | Alex Sink said her endorsements and localized campaigning will win out over Republican Rick Scott's personal millions he is plowing into the race for governor of Florida.
Riding on a recent poll showing her ahead of Scott, Sink, the Democratic chief financial officer of Florida, appeared more feisty than in recent weeks during a stop in Lakeland on Friday.
"I have something he'll never have: the endorsement of the two largest law enforcement organizations (Police Benevolent Association and the Fraternal Order of Police)," she told The Ledger in an interview. "This is the first time they have endorsed a Democrat for governor in 20 years. My grass roots will beat his check-writing."
