Description | "Gov. Ed Rendell said today he does not consider Republicans Tom Corbett and Pat Toomey "wackos," despite his comments in Philadelphia yesterday that the GOP is being taken over by "wackos."
Corbett, the state attorney general, is running for governor. Toomey, a former congressman, is running for the U.S. Senate.
Rendell said that while he disagrees with Toomey's ideology, he has always found him to be a "reasonable" person.
And despite Corbett's remark earlier this summer that those who are unemployed are choosing to stay that way, "he hasn't done enough wacko things to be classified as wacko," Rendell said.
"There are clearly elements of the Republican Party that are totally wacked out," Rendell said. "By no means are all Republican candidates 'wacked out' or 'fruit loops.'" |
