Description | WASHINGTON -- U.S. Sen. Richard Lugar's support for curbing global warming and providing health care to the children of legal immigrants ended his voting record of backing President Bush 100 percent.
The Indiana Republican voted with Bush on 98 percent of the Senate bills and amendments the president took a position on last year, according to a Congressional Quarterly magazine analysis.
U.S. Sen. Evan Bayh's support for Bush dropped even more, to 55 percent last year from 79 percent in 2002. Only one Hoosier, freshman Republican Chris Chocola, voted with Bush 100 percent of the time last year. |
