Description | "Vice President Joe Biden said predictions are wrong about some “grand debacle” for Democrats in November, and he predicted upset victories for Democrats in the Senate races in Nevada and Kentucky.
“Reports of our demise are premature,” Biden said in an interview with POLITICO as he wrapped up his surprise Fourth of July trip to Baghdad.
Biden predicted a victory for the Democratic candidate in conservative Kentucky, state Attorney General Jack Conway, where the GOP nominee is Rand Paul, son of former presidential candidate Ron Paul.
“I think we can beat Rand Paul — absolutely,” Biden said. “I think we’re going to do a great deal better than anyone gives us credit for. I do not see this grand debacle. Because by the time people walk into the booth, they’re going to have to choose between two people.”
Ditto for Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), who faces Republican Sharron Angle: “Yes. I give him a 55 percent chance or better.” |
