Description | A key Republican on Tuesday called for the firing of Gen. Stanley McChrystal.
Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Mich.), the ranking member of the Intelligence Subcommittee on Terrorism, Human Intelligence, Analysis and Counterintelligence, said President Barack Obama should consider firing McChrystal over remarks the general made to Rolling Stone magazine critical of the administration's decision-making in Afghanistan.
"If I were the president, I would consider getting rid of General McChrystal," Rogers said on MSNBC.
Rogers said the "lapse in judgment" by McChrystal, the top U.S. commander in Afghanistan, in airing his grievances against the Obama administration was a fireable offense. |
