Description | The Secret Service arrested two men late Thursday night after they refused officers’ orders to make way for President Barack Obama’s motorcade.
The men were arrested near the intersection of 18th and E streets NW, as Obama’s presidential limousine was making its way back to the White House from an event, according to Secret Service spokesman Ed Donovan.
Officers ordered the men to get out of the way and they refused. The two men shouted several vulgarities at the officers and appeared to be resisting arrest, while one of the men was wrestled to the ground, according to The Associated Press.
“They were given a lawful order to move out of the street, and they refused to do so. It doesn’t seem like it was a protest or anything like that,” said Donovan in a phone interview Friday morning. |
