Description | Former U.S. Rep. and Democratic condo vote deliverer Robert Wexler has stayed out of Florida's U.S. Senate race since taking a job with a Middle East think tank.
But Wexler's former political strategist and chief of staff, Eric Johnson, said he got Wexler's "blessing" before taking a job last week as a consultant for Republican-turned-independent Gov. Charlie Crist's Senate campaign.
Johnson stressed that the nod from Wexler is "not necessarily indicative" of whether his former boss will get involved in the Senate race, or for whom.
Wexler and Crist are longtime pals. Last year, when then-Republican Crist was poised to enter the Senate race, then-Rep. Wexler said he'd have a hard time rallying Dems against Crist. |
