Description | Senator Arlen Specter is a politician who detests losing but he made a magnanimous gesture on Tuesday to Representative Joe Sestak, the man who defeated him in last week’s Democratic Senate primary in Pennsylvania.
Mr. Specter, who was bruised enough by his loss to miss some Senate votes, introduced his recent foe to Senate Democrats at their weekly lunch.
It was the first time that Senator Harry Reid, the majority leader, and no doubt other lawmakers had met or heard from Mr. Sestak.
“Wonderful presentation,” said Mr. Reid about the meeting. |
