Description"It appears voters in the 7th Congressional District will have only two candidates to choose from in November.

Dawn Stensland Mendte has decided against running for the seat as an Independent, according to a blog post from her husband, former CBS 3 news anchor Larry Mendte.

“Dawn Stensland Mendte is the perfect candidate in 2010,” wrote Mendte in a Philadelphia Magazine blog post Thursday. “That is why it is a shame she is not running.”

Even worse, we would never see our kids.”

He added his wife might one day be a member of Congress, but it would not be until their children are much older. They are reportedly now looking to move to Bucks County.

Chris Freind, the son of former state Rep. Steven Freind, R-166, of Haverford, originally broke the story that Stensland Mendte might run for the 7th District seat late last year.

Running on conservative values, she could have given Republican candidate Pat Meehan a run for his money..."
