DescriptionHouse Republicans are already brushing off the disappointing loss in the late John Murtha’s district Tuesday night, claiming the GOP will still retake the House in November.

House Majority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) said they would run Republican Tim Burns again in November against Democratic winner Mark Critz, and House Minority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) said that the Pennsylvania district wasn’t even in the GOP’s top 50 opportunities for a takeover.

Republicans are saying they are still the outsiders.

“We are not the party to go along with this majority’s agenda,” Cantor said. “We are not the party that was fired in ‘06 or ‘08 that people actually did rebuke and say we’ve had enough of you.”
