Gay-rights group kicks off Pride Week

| Description | On Sunday afternoon, a rainbow stretched across the Centennial Bridge.
This particular rainbow had nothing to do with the rain that fell earlier in the day on the Quad-Cities. It had everything to do with pride.
The "Colors Across the River" event, which included about 250 people carrying rainbow flags from Davenport to Rock Island, was part of the Greater Quad-Cities Area Pride Fest '09 celebrating lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender pride. Pride Week began Sunday and lasts through June 28.
The international theme for Pride this year is "Your Rights, Our Rights, Human Rights." |
