DescriptionRep. Brad Ellsworth of Evansville, the Democratic Senate hopeful, believes the new health care law will decrease the number of abortions in the United States. But he’s being pressed by Catholic leaders who disagree.

Evansville Bishop Gerald A. Gettelfinger wrote a column chastising the vote by Ellsworth, who is Catholic. “I am personally and greatly disappointed in Congressman Ellsworth,” he wrote in the piece that was published in The Message, the weekly newspaper of city’s Catholic Diocese.
