Description | Sen. Johnny Isakson was admitted to a hospital for the second time in a week Monday night after a follow-up visit to the doctor revealed an irregular heartbeat and, later, a blood clot in his right calf.
The 65-year-old Isakson, a Georgia Republican who is seeking reelection in November, spent four days at an Atlanta-area hospital last week with a bacterial infection.
Isakson was sent to a cardiologist Monday after an irregular heartbeat was detected during a follow-up visit to check on the progress of his recovery from the bacterial infection, according to a statement released by his office Tuesday.
Isakson, who developed a blood clot while recuperating from the bacterial infection, was quickly admitted to a second Atlanta hospital. |
