| Description | Prague, March 25 (CTK) - Petr Necas has replaced Mirek Topolanek as the election leader of the Czech Civic Democrats (ODS), the party's executive council agreed Thursday, two months ahead of the general election.
Necas said he was prepared to be prime minister if the Civic Democrats win the elections due on May 28-29.
The executive council called on Topolanek to step down as party chairman. According to unofficial information, 37 of 45 of the council 's members wanted him to leave the post. |
