Description | Urban and coastal precincts beat out eastern and southern voters.
Bucking a reputation as anti-tax, Oregonians statewide approved the passage of two ballot measures that increase taxes for a percentage of citizens and businesses.
As of yesterday, Measure 66 had passed with 54.2 percent of Oregon voters approving an increase on the personal income tax on individual earnings of more than $125,000 or couples’ making more than $250,000.
Measure 67, which will increase the corporate minimum tax as well as the tax rate on a corporation’s profits above $250,000, passed with 53.52 percent of the votes. Both tax increases affect 2009 filings. |
