DescriptionSen. Kirsten Gillibrand's would-be primary opponents are dropping like flies, but outgoing Comptroller Bill Thompson has so far remained mum on whether he will heed the urging of fellow Democrats like Rep. Jose Serrano and take her on in 2010.

In discussing his next move, Thompson has refused to rule anything out or in and says he'll make a decision before the end of the month.

He is widely expected to take a pass on 2010, perhaps marshalling his energy - and resources - until the 2013 mayor's race. But maybe today's Q poll will change his mind.

The poll finds Thompson leading Gillibrand 41-28 in a hypothetical head-to-head match-up with 28 percent of Democrats undecided.
