Description | FRANKFORT - With the state's senior U.S. senator already supporting her, state Sen. Alice Forgy Kerr wrapped up the Republican nomination to run for the open 6th Congressional District seat yesterday.
Now she plans to bring in President Bush to help her win the seat.
Kerr, whose campaign has received money and staff members from U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell, defeated state Reps. Stan Lee of Lexington and Lonnie Napier of Lancaster, as well as Lexington-Fayette Urban County Councilman Chuck Ellinger II, during a secret-ballot election at Republican headquarters.
