| Description | LAS VEGAS -- For years, Las Vegans have wondered whether Oscar Goodman had greater ambitions; despite his assurances he was satisfied being the “happiest mayor in the world.”
They may find out the answer soon.
Thursday, during a weekly meeting with reporters, Goodman said he was “seriously considering” a run for Nevada governor.
The statement, and the brief discussion that followed, immediately threw a wild card into the race and raised questions about whether Goodman would challenge Democratic contender Rory Reid or strike out on his own as an independent.
“If a nonpartisan is able to win, I would prefer to go that way,” Goodman said. “If nonpartisan just on the percentages is unable to win, then I would have to consider a Democratic primary.” |
