DescriptionState Fish, Wildlife and Parks officials are confirming that Congressman Denny Rehberg and four other people were injured when a boat they were in ran aground Thursday night at a state park near Big Fork on Flathead Lake.

Rehberg and Republican state Senate Majority Whip Greg Barkus are both hospitalized at Northwest Health Care in Kalispell. Three people injured in the boating crash were flown by helicopter to the hospital, said Jim Satterfield, FWP regional director. Officials are not releasing the names of the other three people involved in the crash.

"There was a serious boating accident near Wayfarers State Park some time between 10 p.m. and midnight," Satterfield said. "Campers heard the crash, went to see, and called 911. Big Fork Fire responded. Five individuals in the boat sustained injuries."

Satterfield said the 22-foot motorboat crashed into rocks on the shore. The exact location of the crash is unknown, but the campground from where witnesses heard the wreck is roughly 130 yards from the nearest shore.
