WASHINGTON – Looking for a deal on a house in suburban Washington? Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison – aiming to move to the Governor's Mansion – is selling her 4,300-square-foot house in McLean, Va.
And with plans to quit the Senate soon, she has slashed the price.
"She's no longer going to be in the United States Senate. She's coming home to Texas. That's why it's for sale," said gubernatorial campaign spokeswoman Jennifer Baker.
The senator's asking price is $1.45 million – $150,000 less than she and husband Ray Hutchison paid in May 2006, and $345,000 less than they were asking a year ago.
And that price probably isn't firm. The listing describes a "motivated seller" seeking "all offers." |
