U.S. Rep. John B. Larson underwent heart valve replacement surgery at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center this morning and is resting comfortably, a family spokesman said.
"The surgery was to replace his aortic valve, which over the years had calcified," the spokesman, Barry Feldman, said. "The reason he decided to have it now wasn't because of any symptoms but because it might be another year or 18 months or two years before he might start having symptoms." |
